Description

Traditional black iron window fastener / casement latch set.

It consists of:

Latch handle and catch body, A hand-forged iron lever handle mounted on a small backplate. The long curved handle pivots to engage with the keeper.
Keepers / striking plates. The fixed plates that are screwed to the window frame. The latch tongue or hook engages into these to hold the window shut.
Locking Key.

Characteristics:
Material: wrought iron with a black painted/powder-coated finish.
Style: Traditional/period architectural ironmongery, commonly used on timber casement windows, cottages, barns, and heritage-style buildings.
Function: The lever is rotated to pull the window sash tight against the frame, improving closure and reducing rattling.
Fixing: The plates are secured with screws through the countersunk holes.

This type of fitting is often found on Victorian, Georgian, and rustic-style timber windows.
